Luka Doncic Calls Out 'Not Very Nice' Matas Buzelis for Trash Talk in Lakers' Win over Bulls

Luka Dončić is good enough to dominate NBA games with his own talent, but the Chicago Bulls found out the hard what happens when you try to ruffle his feathers.

After putting up 51 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in the Los Angeles Lakers' 142-130 win over Chicago on Thursday, Dončić told reporters following the victory that Matas Buzelis engaged in some "not very nice" trash talk throughout the game.

"I was surprised. I didn't say nothing," Dončić said. "… Yeah. Not very nice. I was surprised."

Even though Dončić scored 12 points in the first quarter, he said that Buzelis "woke me up" by talking after the Lakers star missed a reverse layup attempt in the period.

Buzelis, to his credit, did own that Dončić was great and seemed to get better after the trash talk started.

"I don't even know what to say, honestly. He started killing obviously when I started talking to him," Buzelis said. "I just … I don't back down from anybody. No matter who you are. And I took on the challenge and didn't execute."

Dončić was incredibly consistent throughout the game, scoring at least 10 points in each quarter. He shot 17-of-31 from the field for his first 50-point game as a member of the Lakers.

Making matters worse for Buzelis is he had the worst plus-minus of anyone in the game at minus-25 as the Bulls lost for the 17th time in their last 21 games.

The Lakers, meanwhile, have crawled their way back up the Western Conference standings with four straight wins. They are currently the No. 3 seed, though all five teams between three and eight right now are within two games of each other.
