LeBron Feels Like 'S--t' Now, Reveals He Was 'Tired' Before Lakers' Win vs. Kevin Durant, Rockets
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is feeling his age after his first 30-point game in two months in Wednesday's 124-116 win over the Houston Rockets.
Speaking to reporters following the victory (starts at 1:12 mark), James explained he was "tired" going into the game and feels like "s--t" after playing 34 minutes.
James had one of his best performances of the season with 30 points on 13-of-14 shooting against the Rockets.
This was James' fourth game back after sitting out three consecutive games from March 6-10 due to elbow and foot injuries.
Since a loss to the Denver Nuggets on March 5 in the game that James suffered the injury, the Lakers have played arguably their best basketball of the season. They have won seven consecutive games, with high-profile victories over the New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Nuggets and Rockets (twice) during this stretch.
Much has been made about James' role on this version of the Lakers and head coach JJ Redick saying it's in their best interest if he's the "third-highest-used player" after Luka Donฤiฤ and Austin Reaves.
While Donฤiฤ is clearly the No. 1 in Los Angeles right now, Wednesday was a nice reminder that James, even 23 years into his legendary career, is still capable of a dominant performance against a good opponent.
James' feeling of exhaustion coming into the night came after he averaged 35.3 minutes per contest in the previous three games, two full minutes higher than his season average (33.3).
You would never know based on how James played against the Rockets to help the Lakers (44-25) move two games up in the loss column on Houston and Minnesota in the race for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.
