'Wilt. Me. Kobe,' Bam Adebayo Reacts to Historic 83-Point Game, Re-Creates Iconic Chamberlain Photo

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo paid tribute to Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant after becoming the third player in NBA history to score at least 80 points in a game.

Following his historic 83-point outing in the Heat's 150-129 win over the Washington Wizards, Adebayo posted a photo on Instagram re-creating the iconic image of Chamberlain after he dropped 100 in 1962 with the caption: "Wilt. Me. Kobe."

The 83 points for Adebayo is the second-most ever scored in an NBA game. It also set a new high water mark for most points since the advent of the three-point line in the 1979-80 season.

Bryant had been in second place behind Chamberlain for most points in a game for 20 years. The Los Angeles Lakers icon dropped 81 against the Toronto Raptors on Jan. 22, 2006.

It was evident right out of the gate that Adebayo was in for a special night. He put up 31 points in the first quarter, marking the fourth-highest total in a single quarter in NBA history.

The 31 points also matched Adebayo's second-highest total in a game all season. It was his first 30-point game since Jan. 22 when he put up a then-season-high 32 in a 127-110 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Adebayo was at 62 points through three quarters, already marking the highest single-game output all season. The previous high mark was Nikola Jokić's 56-point triple-double against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Christmas Day.

It was also the NBA's first 60-point game since Jokić dropped 61 on April 1, 2025, also against Minnesota.

Even though the Heat led by 26 going into the fourth quarter, head coach Erik Spoelstra allowed Adebayo to nearly 11 of the 12 minutes in the final period. He scored 21 points on 14-of-16 shooting from the free-throw line to get his total up to 83.

Adebayo finished 20-of-43 from the field and 36-of-43 from the free-throw line. His 36 made free throws were seven more than he had in the previous nine games combined.

The Heat (37-29) have now won six straight games and moved into sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
