Jaylen Brown Rips Refs on Social Media After Ejection During Celtics vs. Spurs

Scott PolacekMar 10, 2026

Jaylen Brown was ejected from Tuesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs and didn't wait long to let everyone know how he felt about it.

The Boston Celtics star was ejected in the first half following double technical fouls after he vehemently argued a no-call. He then took to social media and quickly responded to the situation:

Brown had to be held back by multiple teammates and even head coach Joe Mazzulla as he continued to argue with the officials after he was ejected.

It was a major loss for the Celtics considering he was off to an excellent start with eight points, seven assists, two rebounds and one steal in 15 minutes of action. He has also largely carried the team for stretches this season with Jayson Tatum sidelined until recently.

Brown entered Tuesday's contest averaging 28.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.0 steals a night while shooting 48 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from deep. He is a major reason the team has far exceeded expectations even with Tatum out and after trading Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porziņģis.

Boston is 43-21 and in second place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Despite the winning, Brown has been vocal about the officiating at times this season.

Following a January matchup against the same Spurs team in which Boston shot a grand total of four free throws, he told reporters, "I feel like, honestly, they just got away with a lot, and I'm tired of the inconsistency. I'll accept the fine at this point. I thought it was some bulls--- tonight. I think [the Spurs are] a good defensive team, but they ain't that damn good.

"I hope somebody can just pull up the clips, because it's the same s--- every time we play a good team. It's like they refuse to make a call then call touch fouls on the other end."

He continued and said, "That's just extremely frustrating, bro. Like, we play hard. We were outplaying our expectations. We compete hard on the defensive end. Then they reward the other team with touch fouls. Then we go down there and guys are allowed to get away with ... I hope, just somebody please pull it up."

Brown also pointed out how difficult it is to defeat good teams if they are allowed to be physical with the Celtics and not get called for fouls.

It is notable Tuesday's game was also against the Spurs, as Brown was surely frustrated with how he was being defended and let the officials know about it before his evening came to an early end.
