March Madness 2026 Men's 68-Team NCAA Tournament Field Revealed on Selection Sunday

Doric SamMar 15, 2026

It's officially the most wonderful time of the year, as the 68-team field for the 2025 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was officially revealed on Selection Sunday.

Defending champion Florida is hoping to win back-to-back national titles for the second time in program history, and the Gators are peaking at the right time after ending the regular season on an 11-game win streak and a run to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament.

However, Florida will face some stiff competition on its path to a second straight national championship. Duke, Michigan and Arizona also put together impressive campaigns on their way to the NCAA Tournament.

Teams to Watch

UConn

After winning back-to-back national championships in 2023 and 2024, UConn disappointingly failed to complete the three-peat last year. Still, the Huskies have the chance to establish themselves as a dynasty by winning their third title in four years.

A loss to Marquette in the regular-season finale likely cost UConn a No. 1 seed, but this year's group has the makings of head coach Dan Hurley's previous title teams.

The Huskies have a trio of sharpshooters in senior forward Alex Karaban, junior guard Solo Ball and freshman guard Braylon Mullins. Transfer point guard Silas Demary Jr. has spearheaded a defensive transformation for the Huskies, and senior center Tarris Reed Jr. has been a force at both ends of the floor.

It will be up to Hurley to find the right formula for UConn throughout the NCAA Tournament as the Huskies try to achieve history as the latest men's basketball dynasty.

Arkansas

In a year that featured one of the greatest freshman classes in recent memory led by Duke's Cameron Boozer, BYU's AJ Dybantsa and Kansas' Darryn Peterson, Arkansas point guard Darius Acuff Jr. could be the most exciting of them all.

Acuff stole headlines throughout the season on his way to being named SEC Freshman and Player of the Year. His 49-point outburst in a loss to Alabama last month stands as one of the best individual performances of the entire 2025-26 season. He also dropped 30 points and 11 assists against Vanderbilt on Sunday to lead Arkansas to its first SEC Tournament title since 2000.

With head coach John Calipari leading the way, Acuff and the Razorbacks could be one of the most dangerous teams in the tournament field.

Arkansas advanced to the Sweet 16 last season, but an experienced coach like Calipari and a dynamo lead guard like Acuff give the Razorbacks a solid chance to win their first national championship since 1994.

Miami (OH)

Despite being the only team to finish the regular season with a perfect 31-0 record, Miami (OH) hasn't been getting much love from national evaluators.

A loss in the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament certainly didn't help matters for the RedHawks, who had joined 2020-21 Gonzaga, 2014-15 Kentucky, 2013-14 Wichita State and 2003-04 Saint Joseph's as the only teams to finish a regular season unbeaten this century.

Still, Miami (OH) has a whopping seven players who average over 10 points per game this season, led by senior guard Peter Suder (14.6 ppg) and sophomore guard Brant Byers (14.2 ppg).

The RedHawks will be bringing all the confidence in the world into the NCAA Tournament, making them a candidate to upset any opponent in this year's bracket.
