Lakers' LeBron James Talks Handling the Emotions of Missing Clutch Shots in Video
LeBron James gave a fan advice about how to manage emotions after missing a clutch shot on Tuesday's episode of Mind the Game with Steve Nash.
"One thing about that is, emotions are gonna happen," James answered around the 29:27 mark of the episode. "We've both been there. We've both missed game-winners, missed clutch shots. It happens. And that's just part of the game. The greatest people of all time to play the game of basketball have never shot 1,000 percent."

"As far as managing, I think it's about understanding, if that opportunity comes again, be ready for that moment again," James continued. "And not shying away from it. It doesn't matter how many you've missed. You have the confidence, if you put the work into it, you envision yourself being in those moments."
James added: "The game is about going out, and playing, and loving it and having fun. If you make the game-winner, you're super excited. If you miss the game-winner, you're super excited for the next one.
"Just being there, just staying present, understanding that... you're not gonna make every shot."
James is shooting 61.5 percent from the field and averaging 2.4 points in the clutch through 44 games of his 23rd NBA season.
Overall, he's averaging 21.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game as the Lakers hold on to the No. 5 seed in the West.
The Lakers will need to hunker down to prevent the Denver Nuggets from leapfrogging them in the standings without James on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The NBA's all-time scoring leader, who has missed two straight games with a left elbow contusion, was listed as questionable with a right hip contusion and left foot arthritis ahead of Tuesday night's home game against Minnesota.
