Tua Tagovailoa Posts Heartfelt Thank You to Dolphins After Release, '1Love - UNO out🤙🏽'
Veteran quarterback Tua Tagovailoa reflected on his six years with the Miami Dolphins after the team announced Monday he'll be released this month.
"From the moment I arrived, you believed in me, supported me, and embraced my family as your own," he wrote on Instagram. "I was able to marry my wife and welcome both my kids to this world. I was able to fortunately allow them to experience life from one I never got to growing up. Wearing this jersey and representing this city has been one of the greatest joys of my life. ...
"As I prepare for the next chapter, I move forward with gratitude, faith, and memories I'll cherish for a lifetime. South Florida will always hold a special place in my heart.

Tagovailoa ranks fourth in franchise history in passing yards (18,166) and touchdown passes (120). At their peak together, he and wide receiver Tyreek Hill were one of the most lethal aerial tandems in the league.
Ultimately, though, the last six years will be considered a disappointment. Miami only reached the playoffs twice, and Tagovailoa was sidelined for the 2022 Wild Card Round loss to the Buffalo Bills.
With the way the 28-year-old was going backward on the field, both sides needed a clean break, and that's what they'll soon have.
Since the Dolphins will subsidize almost all of his 2026 salary, Tagovailoa can focus on signing with a team that puts him in the best position to rebound.
He should have plenty of options as well. Between the draft and free agency, there's a dearth of strong QB candidates available. The market shrunk even further with the Indianapolis Colts applying the transition tag to Daniel Jones.
While he may harbor no ill will toward the Dolphins, Tagovailoa will probably carry a chip on his shoulder moving forward. He'll want to prove all of his skeptics wrong and reassert himself as a quarterback worthy of carrying a team.
