Twenty-eight of Doncic's points came in the first three quarters.
Reaves produced a 25-point performance in which he also had five assists and four rebounds.
Jalen Brunson scored 24 points in defeat for the Knicks. Karl-Anthony Towns also chipped in 25 points.
The win helped the Lakers continue their quest for a top-three seed in the Western Conference.
The Lakers are a full game back of the Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves for the No. 3 seed.
Sunday's win should help continue momentum into an upcoming tough stretch in which the Lakers play Minnesota, Denver and Houston twice.
