Jaylen Brown Jokes Victor Wembanyama 'Is Not Even Human,' Hypes Him as NBA's Top 2-Way Player
Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown praised San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama's two-way prowess when discussing the NBA's best players on both ends of the floor.
"That boy Wemby is a problem, a big problem," Brown said during a recent Twitch stream. "When I say I'm the best two-way player in the league, it's not counting Wemby. Like, Wemby don't count. He's not even human. I'm the best human player."
Brown previously called himself the best two-way player in the league in a Dec. 31 post on X.
It's worth noting that Brown has put together an impressive two-way season, averaging a career-high 28.8 points per game on a Celtics squad that owns the No. 2 spot in the Eastern Conference standings with a 42-21 record.
He's routinely guarded the top perimeter scorer of opposing teams while staying efficient offensively, shooting 48.1 percent from the field.
Still, it's difficult to deny Wembanyama's impact for San Antonio.
He's averaged 23.8 points per game on 50.2/34.9/81.5 shooting splits, using his 8'0" wingspan to record a league-leading 3.0 blocks on a nightly basis.
The Spurs own a 103.4 defensive rating with Wembanyama on the court, which drops to 113.0 with him on the bench (via NBA.com). For context, the Oklahoma City Thunder own the best defensive rating in the league this season at 105.9.
While Brown previously claimed to be the top two-way player in the association, he appears to be content with sitting behind Wembanyama in his personal rankings.
