Victor Wembanyama Talks Spurs' Comeback Win vs. Clippers in Emotional Video, 'About to Pass Out'

After leading the San Antonio Spurs to their second-biggest comeback win in the past 29 seasons, Victor Wembanyama got very emotional when talking about the moment.

In the aftermath of the Spurs' 116-112 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night, Wembanyama told ESPN's Angel Gray he felt like he was "about to pass out" and called it "close to being the hardest game of my life."

Wembanyama and the Spurs trailed by as many as 25 points in the third quarter. They were held to 46 points in the first half, tied for their third-lowest output through two quarters in a game this season.

San Antonio responded with 35 points each in the third and fourth quarters. Wembanyama led the charge with a team-high 27 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks in the game.

The 22-year-old phenom only played 22 minutes on the second night of a back-to-back. It was also the Spurs' fourth game in six days, with the last two coming at home after a five game road trip that took them to Detroit, Toronto, Brooklyn, New York and Philadelphia.

Despite the difficulty of their recent schedule, the Spurs have won 14 of their last 15 games.

"[My] favorite part is we faced some very different trials over these last two games, and we've been able to answer the call in every single one of them," Wembanyama told reporters after the game.

The 25-point comeback was the second-largest for the Spurs during the play-by-play era (since 1997-98), per ESPN's Michael C. Wright. Their 14-1 record since Feb. 1 is their best 15-game stretch since 2015-16 when they won a franchise-record 67 games in the regular season.

Wembanyama will only get a day to rest because the Spurs are back in action on Sunday when they host the Houston Rockets in a huge Western Conference showdown.
