Anthony Edwards 'Hates' That Fans Complained About All-Star Reserve Spot, Calls Steph Curry GOAT PG
Many NBA fans felt that Minnesota Timberwolves star guard Anthony Edwards was snubbed from a starting spot in the All-Star Game last month, but he doesn't feel the same way.
In a new installment of his YouTube video series "The Album," Edwards was asked about the notion from fans that he should've been selected as an All-Star starter over Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry, and he made it clear that he didn't mind his reserve spot because of the respect he has for the two-time NBA MVP.
"It's definitely a blessing to be an All-Star, however it goes," Edwards said at the 3:11 mark. "But people be trying to make me feel some type of way because they feel some type of way. I actually hate the fact that folks be talking about it... It don't really matter, bro. It's Steph Curry, bro, he's the greatest point guard of all time. I ain't trippin'."
Curry was forced to sit out the All-Star Game while recovering from a knee injury, so Edwards started for Team Stars and scored a combined 32 points in three games on the way to winning the round-robin tournament, which was the first-ever iteration of the USA vs. World format for the midseason showcase.
Edwards has been on a tear since returning from the All-Star break, averaging 32.5 points across six games with two 40-point performances, including 41 points in Tuesday's 117-110 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Edwards will try to stay hot as he leads the Timberwolves (39-23) against the Toronto Raptors (35-26) on Thursday night.
