Luka Doncic Celebrates Birthday with Novak Djokovic in Trending Video After Lakers' Win
Luka Dončić earned back-to-back wins, celebrated his 27th birthday and partied with tennis legend Novak Djokovic.
Not a bad weekend.
Video of the Los Angeles Lakers star celebrating with Djokovic was released to social media, and the party includes quite the cake and a song for the six-time All-Star:
Dončić's birthday was Saturday, when the Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors 129-101 on the road. The Purple and Gold had little time to celebrate that win before they were back in action Sunday when they defended home court and defeated the Sacramento Kings 128-104.
But they did have time to give Dončic another birthday cake that featured a half Lakers jersey and a half Slovenia jersey:
Djokovic was in attendance for the win over the Kings and posed for pictures with the Lakers' two biggest stars:
Dončic said he considers the tennis legend the "GOAT" and added, "so just for him being here watching me, it's unbelievable," per TMZ Sports.
He put on quite the show for Djokovic and everyone else in attendance with 28 points, nine assists, five rebounds, one steal and one block while shooting 10-of-16 from the field and 4-of-8 from deep.
It was another impressive showing for the guard who leads the NBA in points per game (32.5), and it helped Los Angeles improve to 36-24.
It is in sixth place in the Western Conference standings but just 1.5 games behind the third-seeded Houston Rockets. If it plays like it did over the weekend, it can move up in the playoff picture and perhaps put itself in better positions to earn more celebrations in the postseason.
Perhaps Djokovic will attend one of those as well.
