Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary Wears $13M Michael Jordan-Kobe Bryant Autograph Card Necklace on Video
Canadian investor Kevin O'Leary, best known for being one of the Sharks on Shark Tank, showed up to the 32nd Actor Awards wearing an autographed Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant trading card around his neck.
The price of that particular card? Oh, just a measly $13 million, according to CNBC's Laya Neelakandan.
O'Leary—aka Mr. Wonderful—said he bought the card with a pair of fellow investors, Matt Allen and Paul Warshaw, and doesn't plan on selling it.
"It's going to be a part of an index that I'm going to continue to grow along with my partners," he told Neelakandan. "We look at it no different than our bitcoin holdings, our ethereum holdings, our gold holdings. ... It's no different than collectible watches, in some way. It's so rare that the prices continue to appreciate, and they seem to defy recessions."
So there you have it. What was once a fun childhood pastime, collecting cards and trading them with your friends, is now a part of investment portfolios.
