Lakers' LeBron James Calls Daughter Zhuri a 'Good Luck Charm' in Video After Win vs. Warriors
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James credited daughter Zhuri for Saturday's 129-101 victory over the Golden State Warriors.
Zhuri made the trek to San Francisco, and James told reporters he and his daughter took in plenty of sights around the Bay Area. It was her first NBA road trip outside of All-Star Weekend.
"She's a good luck charm," the 22-time All-Star said.
James joked that his wife, Savannah, would prefer for Zhuri to not going into the family business and become a basketball player. Still, she looked like a natural when she set her dad up with an alley-oop during warmups.
James nearly had a double-double as Los Angeles notched its 35th win. He finished 22 points, seven rebounds and nine assists in 28 minutes on the floor.
The Lakers are sixth in the Western Conference, with only 1.5 games separating them from the Phoenix Suns for the first play-in spot.
Coach JJ Redick is presumably willing to consider a lot of ideas to shore up the team's playoff position. Maybe it's time to have a straightforward conversation with the James family about the merits of remote learning.
Zhuri missing some school days is a worthwhile sacrifice if she can propel the Lakers forward in the stretch run.
