Champions League Draw 2026 Schedule of Dates for Round of 16 Bracket Fixtures

Nick AkermanFeb 27, 2026

Champions League favorites Arsenal will face Bayer Leverkusen in the Round of 16, as each of the remaining 16 teams had their potential runs to the final decided during Friday's draw in Nyon, Switzerland.

UEFA general secretary Giorgio Marchetti and legendary Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitić conducted the ceremony that also threw together the mouth-watering showdown of Real Madrid taking on Manchester City across two legs.

Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea will also do battle again in a rematch of the recent Club World Cup final, which saw the London club triumph.

UEFA's new format means Friday's draw is the last of this year's competition, with each team's route to the final now laid out.

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal is the team to beat after easing through the league stage with an unblemished record of eight wins, zero draws and zero losses. The Gunners head into the tie with Leverkusen as firm favorites and will be buoyed by landing on what looks like the easier side of the bracket.

Arsenal will face either Norwegian surprise package Bodo/Glimt or Portuguese champions Sporting in the quarters, with one of Newcastle, Barcelona, Atletico or its North London rivals Tottenham awaiting in the semis.

Both Real Madrid and Man City will curse their luck after being placed on a difficult run that once again pits the pair together.

The winner will move on to face much-fancied Bayern Munich or Atalanta, with PSG, Liverpool, Chelsea or Galatasaray awaiting the winner of that in the last four.

The first round of fixtures begin on March 10, with the final set for Budapest on May 30.
