Lane Kiffin, LSU Make Offer to 8th Grader Rudyard West Jr. After RB's Blazing 100m Dash Time
Lane Kiffin and LSU are already looking to find talent out of the class of 2030.
Kiffin and running backs coach Kevin Smith have offered 8th grader Rudyard West Jr. a scholarship to play for the Tigers after the 14-year-old ran a 10.5-second time in the 100-meter dash (h/t TigerDroppings).

West, who is from West Monroe, Louisiana, will begin his high school football journey in the fall at West Monroe High School, according to Fox 8's Garland Gillen. According to West's social media account, he had 1,000-plus all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns last fall.
Considering he already holds an offer from a school as prestigious as LSU, he'll likely have plenty of other offers coming his way soon.
It's no secret that the recruiting perks were a big reason why Kiffin took the job at LSU after six years at Ole Miss, and he's already hitting the recruiting trail hard. The Tigers have the 11th-ranked recruiting class for 2026 and the top transfer ranking, according to 247Sports. They've also already landed a pair of 4-star prospects out of the class of 2027.
Once Kiffin gets his first full season under his belt, it won't be a surprise to see talent flocking to Baton Rouge.
LSU is coming off a disappointing three years with Brian Kelly at the helm and is looking to get back to being a national contender. Kiffin was able to turn Ole Miss into one of the top teams in the SEC year in and year out, and should be able to do the same with the Tigers.
