Listen to LiAngelo Ball's New NSFW Song 'Backyard Ball' After 'Tweaker' Success
LiAngelo Ball dropped a new single Tuesday as he looks to build on his first studio album, League of My Own.
As its name would suggest, "Backyard Ball" includes numerous basketball references. (Song contains profanity.)
After Ball's career on the hardwood stalled out, he's finding much better luck on the mic. His "Tweaker" single attained platinum status last fall and peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"I always told myself I would be great at something, even if the hoops don't work," Ball told Billboard's Michael Saponara. "I just never knew it would be rap, and I just ran with it."
Becoming a recording artist has become a lucrative pursuit for the 27-year-old. Thanks in part to the early success of "Tweaker," he signed a deal with Def Jam and Universal Music Group that's reportedly worth up to $13 million.
