Doric SamNov 17, 2025

LiAngelo Ball reached rarified air less than a year into his music career after transitioning away from basketball.

Per TMZ, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced on Monday that Ball's hit single, "Tweaker," officially hit one million digital units sold, giving him his first platinum single.

The 26-year-old now joins Drake, Lil Tecca, BigXthaPlug and Mariah The Scientist as the only other hip-hop and R&B artists to have platinum singles in 2025.

"Tweaker" was released in January and immediately became an online sensation, earning Ball a music deal with Def Jam. The song reached the No. 1 spot on the US Rhythmic Billboard chart and became a staple in post-game locker room celebrations. Ball even scored a feature from Lil Wayne on the official remix.

Ball's first studio album, League of My Own, was released in July under Def Jam. He confirmed the following month that he's officially retired from basketball to focus on music.
