Latest News on Dillon Brooks' Injury, Timeline to Return After Exiting Suns vs. Magic

Julia StumbaughFeb 23, 2026

Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks is expected to miss four to six weeks after suffering a broken left hand during Saturday's game against the Orlando Magic, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

Brooks left Saturday's game with 4:46 remaining in the first quarter and did not return.

He appeared to suffer an injury on a contested jumper during which the Magic's Wendell Carter Jr. made contact with his hand, per the Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin.

Ryan Dunn started the second half in Brooks' place.

Brooks had contributed five points and three rebounds in seven minutes before exiting the game. He went 2-for-7 from the field and 1-for-3 from deep.

His departure left the Suns without both of their top scorers for at least the remainder of Saturday's matchup.

The Suns had already announced ahead of the game that Devin Booker would miss at least a week with a right hip strain suffered in last Thursday's loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Booker, who has averaged a team-high 24.7 points and 6.1 assists through 44 games, also recently missed seven games with a right ankle sprain.

Brooks ranks second on the Suns roster with a career-high 21.2 points per game through 49 contests. He has also missed time over multiple stretches due to groin injuries, and was playing in his return from a one-game suspension for multiple fouls.

The Suns are also missing Haywood Highsmith, who has yet to play this season after undergoing offseason knee surgery. The team said Saturday he would be re-evaluated in two to three weeks.

Grayson Allen, who was questionable ahead of Saturday's game with a right ankle sprain, was available to come off the bench for the Suns.

The Suns went into Saturday ranked No. 7 in the West with a 32-24 record, although the franchise has also dropped four of its last five games.

The Suns will hope Jalen Green, who recently returned after missing most of the season with a lingering right hamstring injury, can shoulder a larger workload with Brooks forced to join Booker on the sideline.
