Devin Booker Injury, Latest Update on Suns Star's Hip and Timeline to Return
The Phoenix Suns announced that guard Devin Booker suffered a right hip strain during the team's 121-94 road loss against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday and will be re-evaluated in a week.
The 29-year-old Booker, who is playing in his 11th NBA season, is averaging 24.7 points and 6.1 assists for the 33-24 Suns.
Booker played only nine minutes against the Spurs before exiting the game. Suns head coach Jordyn Ott spoke on the matter afterward, per ESPN's Michael C. Wright.

"[He] tried to go back out there," Ott said. "[Had to] save him from himself. [He] wasn't moving great when he came back in."
As Wright noted, Booker played the first six-and-a-half minutes before exiting. He tried to return with 4:46 left in the half but played just two more minutes before leaving the matchup for good.
"He felt good enough to come back in," Ott said. "And the first couple of times up and down, I didn't notice anything. And then [I] definitely noticed there at the end of that second stint."
Booker will miss at least four home games against the Orlando Magic, Portland Trail Blazers, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers between Saturday and next Friday. His absence likely means more playing time for Jordan Goodwin, who started the second half for Booker on Saturday.
The game to watch for Booker's potential return might be a March 3 road contest against the Sacramento Kings. If Booker's re-evaluation is in a week, he could have an extra four full days of rest between the Lakers and Kings games to return to the court. Until then, the Suns press on and look to qualify for the playoffs.
