New Steph Curry, Kristaps Porzingis Injury Updates, Timelines to Return to Warriors
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Monday Stephen Curry will miss the All-Star Game due to his knee injury:
On Saturday, Kerr had discussed the possibility Curry wouldn't return until after the break, also providing an update on big man Kristaps Porziņģis:
Curry has not played since Jan. 30 due to a right knee issue that the team is terming patellofemoral pain syndrome (runner's knee). Porziņģis, who the Warriors acquired from the Atlanta Hawks via trade on Thursday, hasn't played since Jan. 7 due to left Achilles tendinitis.
The Warriors have already been dealt a tough injury blow this season after losing six-time All-Star Jimmy Butler for the season to a torn ACL on Jan. 19. The 29-25 Warriors sit eighth in the Western Conference.
Thankfully, Golden State should have Curry and Porziņģis on the court soon enough, but they'll be very shorthanded in the interim, especially after dealing Buddy Hield and Jonathan Kuminga to the Hawks in the KP deal.
The Warriors will face the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday in the final game before the All-Star Game.
Their first regular season game after the All-Star break is Thursday, Feb. 19 vs. the Boston Celtics.
