Chris Paul Honored by NBA Fans for Legendary Career After Announcing Retirement
Chris Paul called it a career on Friday, minutes after he was waived by the Toronto Raptors.
Following Paul's announcement, there was an outpouring of posts showing appreciation for his legendary career:
Paul, 40, signed with the Los Angeles Clippers over the summer as he looked to close out his career with the team he spent his best years with. In November, he hinted that the 2025-26 campaign would be his last.
Los Angeles interrupted his retirement tour in December when the Clippers removed him from the team amid clashes with head coach Ty Lue and the coaching staff.
Paul wasn't released from the team, but the Clippers instead opted to work with him to find a trade. Los Angeles finally found a deal a day before the trade deadline, sending Paul to the Toronto Raptors in a three-team deal also involving the Brooklyn Nets.
Paul finishes his career as one of the greatest point guards of all time, ranking No. 2 on the all-time assists and steals lists behind former Utah Jazz floor general John Stockton.
