Faustino Asprilla Lends Friend £44K Horse, Friend Gets Drunk, Gives Away Horse

Really, there should be a camera crew following Faustino Asprilla at all times and filming every aspect of his life.

The former Newcastle, Parma and Colombia striker was pure entertainment on the pitch, and it seems he is even wilder off. 

Since retiring, among other things, Asprilla has been arrested for "spraying security forces with machine gun bullets" and been openly courted by the porn industry. 

His latest headline-grabbing act is actually one of generosity. Asprilla owns a £44,000 show horse called Lucas, which he decided to lend to a friend. 

However, this is the world of Asprilla, so of course things had to take an unpredictable turn.

Unfortunately the friend ended up giving it away after drinking too much at a party following a parade at the Buga Fair.

Lucas went missing on 17 July and so desperate was the 45-year-old ex-Magpie to be reunited with him that he offered a £1,090 reward for information leading to the horse's return.

Valle del Cauca regional police chief Fernando Murillo told Bogota daily El Espectador that Lucas was eventually found in a stable in the town of Florida.
