Lakers' Luka Talks Playing With LeBron, Picks NBA's Top Trash-Talker Between Anthony Edwards, Brooks
Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Dončić detailed his experience with playing alongside LeBron James in the purple and gold.
"I mean honestly, just being part of his journey. It's been amazing," Dončić said during a Wednesday appearance on the Cousins With Vince Carter & Tracy McGrady podcast, an AMP Sports Original Series (43:17 mark). "I came into the league watching him play my first game against him was like a dream come true. So now just being his teammate, it's insane."
Dončić and James are in the midst of their first full season as teammates after the Lakers acquired the former in a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Mavericks in Feb. 2025.
While Dončić is known for his trash talk during games, he revealed his pick for the NBA's top trash-talker.
When Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was suggested as the NBA's best regarding verbal jabs, Dončić chose Phoenix Suns wing Dillon Brooks instead.
"Eh, [Dillon] Brooks," Dončić said (0:12 mark). "I love playing against him…He's been playing good this season."
While Brooks has typically been known for his ongoing feud with James, he's also gone back and forth with Los Angeles' other star. Earlier this season, he gave Dončić a high five after he missed a free throw against Phoenix.
The Lakers sit at 30-19 during their 2025-26 campaign, with Dončić playing a large role in their success.
He's averaging a league-leading 33.4 points to go along with 8.7 assists and 7.9 rebounds per game, shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from behind the arc.
