Giants Trade Rumors Reveal Dexter Lawrence's Potential Value After Quinnen Williams Cowboys Deal
New York Giants defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence had a unusual down year in 2025 after three straight Pro Bowl appearances, amassing just a half-sack and eight quarterback hits in 17 starts.
On Wednesday, SNY's Connor Hughes fielded a mailbag question from a fan asking if he thought Lawrence will be traded this offseason.
Hughes doesn't believe so but then offered an interesting take from a source on what the Giants would get if they did deal Lawrence.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
"I hedge toward no, Lawrence won't be traded, but it can't be ruled out. If dealt, the Giants would free $13 million with a $13 million dead charge. That's not bad. The cap relief plus decent return compensation is something they'd have to consider.
"My question: What actually would a team give up?
"One front office source couldn't see the Giants getting what the Jets did with Quinnen Williams (2026 second round pick, 2027 first). He saw Lawrence's value as a second-round pick and then another mid-rounder."
Lawrence was one of (if not the best) interior defensive linemen from 2022-2024, totaling 21 sacks, 165 tackles (90 solo) and 65 quarterback hits despite (a) frequently seeing double teams and (b) missing the final five games of the 2024 season due to an injured elbow.
The Giants signed Lawrence to a four-year, $90 million extension prior to the 2024 season. That deal runs through the 2027 campaign.
The 2025 season, for whatever reasons, didn't go as well for Lawrence. Of course, he could return to his form next season.
If that mailbag question was posed last year, perhaps the proposed trade haul in return could mirror the likes of Williams, the former New York Jets superstar who landed with the Cowboys last November.
At any rate, Lawrence remains a Giant and an important piece of this team as it enters a new era under first-year head coach John Harbaugh, who is in North Jersey after a successful 18-year run with the Baltimore Ravens.
