New Bulls Trade Rumors on Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu at NBA Deadline After Vucevic to Celtics
The Chicago Bulls are reportedly expected to remain active leading up to Thursday's NBA trade deadline with guards Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu emerging as potential trade candidates.
According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, it would be an "understatement" to say that rival teams expect both White and Dosunmu to be traded.
Fischer noted that he is "struggling" to come up with a logical landing spot for White due in part to one potential suitor, the Minnesota Timberwolves, having "reservations" about acquiring White and then losing him in free agency during the offseason.
As for Dosunmu, who is also an impending free agent, Fischer reported that league sources said there has been "some tangible discussion" between the Bulls and Indiana Pacers regarding a swap of Dosunmu for wing Bennedict Mathurin.
The Bulls were busy on Tuesday, as they were part of a three-team trade with the Detroit Pistons and Timberwolves that saw them send Kevin Hurter to Detroit, while acquiring guard Jaden Ivey from Detroit and guard Mike Conley Jr. from Minnesota.
Chicago then dealt veteran center Nikola Vučević to the Boston Celtics in exchange for guard Anfernee Simons and a second-round pick.
The Bulls' backcourt is suddenly crowded, which opens the door for the potential trades of White and Dosunmu.
White, 25, was originally selected seventh overall in the 2019 NBA draft out of North Carolina. He has spent his entire seven-year NBA career in Chicago, boasting career averages of 15.4 points, 3.9 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 three-pointers made per game.
Last season, White set a new career high with 20.4 points per game, and while injuries have limited him to 29 games this season, he has remained productive when healthy, averaging 18.6 points, 4.7 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2.5 three-pointers made per game.
The 26-year-old Dosunmu was a second-round pick out of Illinois in 2021, and he is a Chicago native.
In five seasons with the Bulls, Dosunmu has averaged 10.9 points, 3.3 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.2 three-pointers made per game. He is in the midst of a career year thus far in 2025-26, as his 15.0 points and 1.9 three-pointers made per game are career highs, plus he is chipping in 3.6 assists and 3.0 rebounds per contest.
Primarily coming off the bench, Dosunmu has been an offensive spark plug, shooting 51.4 percent from the field and a career-best 45.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Both White and Dosunmu would be potentially huge additions for a contending team with the versatility to start or come off the bench.
The Bulls could keep them since they are technically in the playoff race by virtue of holding the last postseason play-in spot in the Eastern Conference with a 24-27 record, but by doing so, they would risk both players walking during the offseason and getting nothing in return.
