Hornets' Kon Knueppel Reportedly Will Compete in 3-Point Contest at NBA All-Star Weekend
Charlotte Hornets standout rookie Kon Knueppel has accepted an invitation to compete in the 3-Point Contest during the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.
Here is the full list of players set to compete in the upcoming event:
Knueppel was already set to participate in the All-Star festivities, as he was previously selected for the Rising Stars Tournament.
He's connected on 166 three-pointers throughout the start of his inaugural season in the association, ranking No. 3 among all players.
Knueppel has also showcased his accuracy, as his 42.5 three-point percentage is the highest among the 15 players that have attempted at least 350 triples this season (via NBA.com).
While many of his looks have come while spacing the floor for teammates such as LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, Knueppel has remained efficient when tasked with creating his own three-point attempts.
The 20-year-old is shooting 46.6 percent on pull-up threes during his 2025-26 campaign.
Knueppel has already established himself as a key building block for the Hornets after they selected him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft.
He's averaging 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field.
Knueppel's strong play has been a major factor in Charlotte's recent success, as the team is currently riding a seven-game winning streak. He was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for January, his third honor of the season.
Knueppel will now look to become the first Hornets player to emerge victorious in the 3-Point Contest.
The 2026 3-Point Contest will take place on Feb. 14 alongside the NBA's Skills Challenge as well as the Slam Dunk Contest.
