Spellย took a visitย to Georgia over the weekend, which seemed to push the Bulldogs over the top.
A 5'9", 205-pound speedster out of McKeesport High School in Pennsylvania, Spell racked up 1,755 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns despite missing multiple games with injuries. He also starred as a kickoff and punt returner.
247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins described Spell as "a mix between a tank and a jackrabbit, which is an extremely difficult combination to tackle," and went on to praise his ability to fight through contact.
"Not a true burner, but can hit the gas when a crease opens up. Frequently thrashes forward at the first sign of contact and almost always seems to be falling forward. ... Fits the bill of a hard-nosed football player given the physicality he also flashes on defense while doubling as a cornerback," Ivins wrote. "Must avoid setbacks, but projects as a potential impact player for a College Football Playoff contender that can move the chains while facing stacked boxes."
Spell is the headliner of aย 2027 Georgia recruiting classย that also includes 4-star cornerback Donte Wright and 4-star offensive tackle Kelsey Adams. His arrival should help the Bulldogs maintain their status as perennial national championship contenders.
