LSU Football Top Remaining Recruits and 2026 Recruiting Class Predictions

Kristopher KnoxFeb 3, 2026

Since winning a national championship in 2019, the LSU Tigers have struggled to find consistent success. In three seasons under Brian Kelly, the Tigers failed to win an SEC Championship or make an appearance in the College Football Playoff (CFP).

LSU is hoping that by luring coach Lane Kiffin away from Mississippi, it can reverse its fortunes in a hurry.

Recruiting will be a big part of the process, of course. Kiffin put together a strong Mississippi team that came within a few plays of reaching this year's CFP Championship, but it'll take him for him to build the squad he wants in Baton Rouge.

Fortunately, the partnership between Kiffin and the Tigers should get off to a promising start. Heading into national signing day (Wednesday, February 4), LSU has the 11th-ranked recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports' rankings.

While Kiffin can certainly dream of making a few late additions and securing a top-10 recruiting class, he's going to need help. The list of top recruits who are uncommitted heading into national signing day is incredibly short.

4-star defensive lineman Dylan Beerymon of Ouachita Parish High School (Monroe, LA) is the only uncommitted recruit among the top 300 players on 247Sports' composite rankings. He's the 197th-ranked recruit on 247Sports' board, and he's already narrowed his options to Kentucky and Nebraska.

A few other top recruits are committed but not yet signed. That group includes Notre Dame commit and quarterback Teddy Jarrard of North Cobb (Kennesaw, GA), who is the 233rd-ranked recruit on 247Sports' board.

While the Tigers don't appear close to flipping any top recruits, they do have two commits of their own who have yet to sign. 3-star safety Jackson Williams of Archbishop Shaw (Marrero, LA) and 3-star offensive tackle JaKolby Jones of Copiah-Lincoln C.C. (Wesson, MS) will be recruits to watch this week.

Recruiting Class Predictions

4 of 4
Southeastern Louisiana v LSU

Is there a chance that LSU adds enough—or a school like Texas A&M or Miami loses enough—in the coming days for the Tigers to crack the top 10? Sure, but it's highly unlikely.

The reality is that in terms of the 2026 class, it's far too little and too late for Kiffin and LSU. Most programs are already focused on attacking the 2027 cycle and have largely forgotten about the current group.

That doesn't mean it's all bad news for the Tigers, though. Since landing Kiffin, they've also put together the top-ranked transfer-portal class in the nation, according to 247Sports.

The prediction here is that LSU locks up Williams and Jones this week but is content to hold a 2026 recruiting class that falls just outside of the top 10.
