Darryn Peterson Injury Update, Status for No. 14 Kansas vs. AJ Dybantsa, No. 13 BYU
Kansas star Darryn Peterson is expected to be available for Saturday's matchup with AJ Dybantsa and Kansas, Jayhawks coach Bill Self told reporters Thursday.
"I anticipate him being ready to go," Self said about Peterson, per the AP's Dave Skretta.
Peterson has been limited by injuries to just 10 games of his first college season. He was most recently sidelined by an ankle sprain for KU's Saturday night win over Kansas State.

Peterson and Dybantsa are both projected as top-three picks in Bleacher Report's latest 2026 NBA mock draft.
Bleacher Report projected Peterson as the No. 1 pick, Duke's Cameron Boozer at No. 2 and Dybantsa at No. 3.
Given the lack of consensus on a top pick, however, how these three star freshmen play down the stretch could ultimately change that order.
Self said Thursday afternoon that he hadn't seen Peterson in person since Tuesday, but that he expected the star freshman to participate in Thursday's practice.
Peterson has averaged 21.6 points on 49.3 percent shooting from the field and 42 percent shooting from deep when available this season for the Jayhawks.
He's added 4.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and one steal per game while helping Kansas put together a 7-3 record with him in the lineup.
Self noted, however, that Peterson hasn't yet gotten the chance to reach his ceiling given the multiple injuries that have sidelined him for half of his freshman season so far.
"It's hard to be ridiculously aggressive if your body's at 80 percent, or whatever. We've seen glimpses, but we haven't seen an extended period of time where he was whole, either," Self says. "So that's also exciting, that we've still got that in front of us."
Dybantsa has had a healthier first season in the NCAA, appearing in all 20 of BYU's games so far this season while leading the nation with 23.6 points per game and adding 6.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.3 steals per contest.
BYU (17-3, No. 13 AP ranking) and Kansas (15-5, No. 14 AP ranking) are set to tip off on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET at Allen Fieldhouse.
