Michigan MCBB Unveils 2026 Championship Rings in Video, Photos to Celebrate 1st Title Since 1989

The Michigan men's basketball team is celebrating their 2026 national title run with a trio of rings.

The Wolverines unveiled a first look Friday at rings celebrating the program's Big Ten regular-season championship, Final Four bid and national championship game victory from last season.

Former Michigan stars including the Oklahoma City Thunder's Aday Mara and Golden State Warriors' Yaxel Lendeborg posted about opening the ring boxes Friday on social media.

Each national championship ring features the player's name and number alongside a piece of net from Michigan's title game win over UConn.

That side of the ring also features the phrase "37 wins" in honor of the team's program-best 37-3 record last season.

The inside of the ring features coach Dusty May's adapted "April habits" motto as well as the phrase "Shock the world, boys" in honor of the sign Glen Rice held up after the program's title win in 1989.

The Big Ten regular-season championship ring notes on one side the Wolverines went 10-0 on the road and 19-1 in conference play.

The inside of the conference ring highlights the Wolverines' five wins over four top-10 ranked teams in Nebraska, Purdue, Illinois and Michigan State.

The Final Four ring opens to reveal an engraved image of the court in Indianapolis.

Michigan's 69-63 over UConn back on April 6 marked the program's first championship since 1989 as well as the Big Ten's first title since Michigan State won in 2000.

A trio from that team ended up as NBA draft lottery selections in Mara, Lendeborg and Morez Johnson Jr., marking the first time Michigan has sent three players into the first round of the draft since 1990.
