Charlie Weis Jr. Reportedly to Remain on Lane Kiffin's LSU Staff After Eagles OC Interview
LSU offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. is reportedly remaining with the school despite taking an interview with the Philadelphia Eagles for their vacant OC role, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
Weis followed head coach Lane Kiffin from Ole Miss to LSU, though he remained with the Rebels during their College Football Playoff run.
Weis, 32, operated as Ole Miss' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach between the 2022-25 seasons. He previously held the same role under Kiffin at Florida Atlantic (2018–19) and also was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for two seasons at South Florida (2020-21).

Disappointing NBA Playoff Stars 😔
That Weis has been trusted as an offensive coordinator since his mid-20s is a good indication that he's seen as an up-and-coming coach—it doesn't hurt that he helped develop quarterbacks like Jaxson Dart, Trinidad Chambliss—and it isn't surprising that a team like the Eagles expressed some interest.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, has cast a wide net as it looks to replace the demoted Kevin Patullo after the team's incredibly disappointing 2025 campaign. The team reportedly had Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll atop its list, though the former is heading to the Los Angeles Chargers as Jim Harbaugh's OC, while the latter is believed to be taking the OC job for the Tennessee Titans if he doesn't land a head-coaching gig.
A number of other Eagles' interviewees have taken different gigs:
While a bit of panic has set in among Philly fans after a number of candidates have withdrawn from consideration or taken other jobs, the Eagles have taken a comprehensive and patient approach to bringing aboard Patullo's replacement. The sounding of the alarms is premature.
But it's undoubtedly an important hire as the Eagles look to get a talented but underachieving offense back on track. The Eagles were a Super Bowl champion with Kellen Moore at OC and reached the big game with Shane Steichen in the role, so they could be the right hire away from achieving that level of success yet again.
