LSU's Lane Kiffin Named Mardi Gras Co-Grand Marshal, Will Ride Special Mike the Tiger Float
The red-carpet treatment for LSU head coach Lane Kiffin will continue during Mardi Gras this year.
According to Aubry Killion of WDSU in New Orleans, Kiffin will be a co-grand marshal for the Endymion parade. The recently hired coach will also ride on a float honoring LSU's Mike the Tiger mascot:
Kern Studios in New Orleans initially built the float ahead of the 2025 College World Series. Mardi Gras Mike may have brought some good luck as Jay Johnson's squad went on to win an eighth national title.
Football fans can only wish Kiffin is that successful out of the gate.
The Tigers went 7-6 in 2025 but rank first in 247Sports' team transfer portal rankings. With 40 new players coming in, Kiffin and his staff could spark an immediate turnaround in Baton Rouge.
If that happens, he'll be welcome at Mardi Gras in perpetuity.
