Lane Kiffin, LSU Land Jordan Seaton, Breaking Down LSU's Transfer Portal Class After OT's Commitment

Julia StumbaughJan 23, 2026

LSU head coach Lane Kiffin has reportedly added another top prospect to the highest-ranking transfer class in football.

Former Colorado offensive tackle Jordan Seaton is committing to LSU, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported Friday.

Seaton, a former five-star prospect, was ranked as the No. 4 overall prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2026 transfer by 247Sports.

LSU has now landed three of the top five transfers available in the portal, according to 247Sports.

That includes former ASU quarterback Sam Leavitt as well as former Ole Miss edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen.

LSU also has 11 four-star players in its 2026 transfer class, which is ranked No. 1 in the nation by 247Sports.

The Tigers are currently the only program to have brought in more than one five-star in the transfer portal, according to 247Sports.

Seaton also marks the 40th transfer to join LSU this winter, making the Tigers tied for the fourth-largest transfer class in the country behind only Oklahoma State, Colorado and UCLA, according to 247Sports.

Kiffin has shaped LSU's offense through the transfer portal by bringing in Leavitt, who is projected to replace Garrett Nussmeier as starter next season, with USC transfer and former five-star recruit Husan Longstreet as backup.

LSU has also brought in a quartet of blue-chip receivers in Florida transfer Eugene Wilson III, Kansas State transfer Jayce Brown, Ole Miss transfer Winston Watkins and ODU transfer Tre' Brown III.

Leavitt will now get a chance to work with that revitalized receiver room while potentially getting pass protection from an offensive line featuring Seaton, Ole Miss transfer Devin Harper and returning center Braelin Moore.

The defensive line will meanwhile be bolstered by the additions of Umanmielen alongside players including Texas transfer Jordan Ross, USC transfer Jaylen Brown, Clemson transfer Stephiylan Green and Auburn transfer Malik Blocton.

Kiffin will hope bringing in so many players with experience will help LSU make a quick turnaround from a 7-6 team in 2025 to a College Football Playoff contender during his first season in Baton Rouge.
