Deion Sanders' Colorado Posts 'Record Revenues' for Athletic Department in 2025
The Colorado athletic department reported record revenues of $161.7 million in fiscal year 2025, according to USA Today's Brent Schrotenboer.
Schrotenboer noted that the figure included a decrease in football ticket revenue from the prior year under head coach Deion Sanders as well as a school-record $43.5 million in total "revenue" from university support and student fees.
Fiscal year 2025 contained Sanders' second season patrolling the sidelines for the Buffaloes in 2024, as they finished with a 9-4 record and advanced to the Alamo Bowl (h/t Schrotenboer).
The decline in football ticket revenue is surprising, especially considering Colorado only finished with a 4-8 record in its first season with Sanders.
The Buffaloes' home attendance dropped from an average of 53,180 fans in 2023 to 52,514 in 2024.
Still, Colorado led all Big 12 schools in attendance rate for football games (via 247Sports' Cody Nagel).
In 2025, Sanders' team struggled to make up for the absences of key contributors from its 2024 squad including Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders. The Buffaloes compiled a 3-9 record, ending the year on a five-game losing streak.
Deion is still signed through the 2029 season, as he agreed to a five-year extension worth $54 million with the school in March 2025.
Colorado will now attempt to return to contending in the Big 12 in 2026.
