Curt Cignetti's Daughter Natalie Shares Photo of Text Exchange with Indiana HC After CFP Title Win

Indiana coach Curt Cignetti has officially confirmed he's happy to have brought the first national championship in football program history to Bloomington.

Cignetti's daughter, Natalie, shared a screenshot of a text thread with her father in which she asked if he was happy after defeating Miami 27-21 in Monday's title game.

"Yes," Cignetti responded, followed by 14 emoji exclamation points.

The post was a nod to a December 2019 post from Natalie, in which she shared a screenshot from a conversation with her father back from his tenure at James Madison.

At the time, Cignetti had just made his DI postseason debut by leading JMU to a 66-21 win over Monmouth in the second round of the FCS playoffs.

When asked if he was happy after that win, Cignetti told his daughter, "No."

Cignetti left JMU to take over at Indiana, which had just gone 3-9, ahead of the 2024 season.

The Hoosiers went 11-2 and made their College Football Playoff debut in their first campaign under Cignetti before improving to 16-0 during his second season in Bloomington.

Capping off that run with a national championship game victory at Hard Rock Stadium was apparently enough to satisfy even Cignetti.
