Indiana announced in October that it had agreed to an eight-year contract extension worth $11.6 million annually. The deal runs through 2033.

Cignetti, who arrived in town from James Madison in 2024, has been sensational in two seasons. Before his arrival, Indiana had won just nine total games from 2021-2023. The Hoosiers were projected to finished 17th out of 18 teams in the Big Ten in 2024.

Instead, the Hoosiers went 11-2 overall (8-1 in Big Ten) and reached the CFP in year one. Indiana then followed that up by going 16-0 in 2025 and outscoring its opponents 666-187.

Cignetti has authored one of the greatest coaching jobs in sports history, and now he's getting a well-deserved bonus and raise for his efforts.

Indiana's 2026 season begins on Sept. 5 at home against North Texas.
