Embiid Calls Out Pritchard Diss
Head coach Curt Cignetti announced himself to the world at his introductory press conference with Indiana in December 2023 when he told people to "Google me" when asked about recruiting for a program that historically lived near the bottom of the Big Ten.
The program Cignetti built responded immediately by winning more games during the 2024 season (11) than the Hoosiers did in the previous three years combined (nine).
This season proved beyond any doubt that Cignetti's message succeeded beyond anyone in Bloomington's wildest dreams. They became just the third team in history to go 16-0 in a single season, joining Yale in 1894 and North Dakota State in 2019.
The 2025 Hoosiers also had the second-best point differential in the modern era of college football (plus-479). They won half of their games by at least 34 points, including their first two playoff games against Alabama (38-3) and Oregon (56-22).
All of this resulted in Indiana University winning its first national title in any team sport since 2012 when the men's soccer team defeated Georgetown in the championship game.
