Fernando Mendoza Gifted $20K Watch by Indiana Teammate in Photo Ahead of CFP Title Game vs. Miami
Indiana wide receiver Elijah Sarratt caught a career-high 15 touchdowns this season and is now one win away from the College Football Playoff national championship.
And he found quite the way to thank the quarterback who is largely responsible for that success.
TMZ Sports reported Sarratt gifted Fernando Mendoza an "iced-out watch" that features nearly 2,500 hand-set stones. The watch is worth $20,000 and left the Heisman Trophy winner smiling:
Sarratt wasn't just in a giving mood, though, as he purchased a pendant and chain with a combined 10,000 hand-set stones that was valued at $35,000.
It is quite the reward for an incredible season, as Mendoza took the nation by storm while winning the Heisman Trophy and leading the Hoosiers to a Big Ten championship and the No. 1 seed in the CFP.
Now they are a Monday victory over Miami away from lifting the trophy as national champions.
Fittingly, the quarterback now has a watch that is nearly as flashy as the trophy itself.
