Zach BacharJan 19, 2026

While Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza has the NFL in his future, that hasn't stopped him from keeping his LinkedIn account up to date.

Mendoza has over 53,000 followers on the professional networking app, listing his college experience with the Hoosiers as well as his tenure at Cal from June 2022 through Jan. 2025. He's currently pursuing his master's degree in business administration and management.

"As a quarterback for Indiana Football, I apply a strong foundation in leadership, time management, and communication to excel both on and off the field," Mendoza wrote on his profile. "I'm passionate about leveraging my background in business, real estate, and finance to build a career that combines strategic thinking, teamwork, and community impact."

The 22-year-old also detailed his experience as an intern at ACRE Investment Company and Newmark. Mendoza served as a head football coach for Next Level Sports in 2023 as well.

Under the awards section of his LinkedIn profile, he included his 2025 Heisman Trophy victory.

Mendoza also added his volunteer experience with Special Olympics Northern California and the National MS Society.

He previously revealed that LinkedIn and YouTube are the only social media apps that he keeps on his phone.

"Not really having social media, I only have LinkedIn and YouTube on my phone right now, has really helped put things in perspective and keep all the opinions of in the building opinions," Mendoza told reporters on Jan. 7. "I'm not online reading, 'Oh, Fernando's great. Fernando sucks.'"

He's put together a stellar 2025 campaign, completing 73.0 percent of his throws for 3,349 yards and 41 touchdowns compared to a mere six interceptions.

Mendoza will eventually be playing on Sundays during the 2026 season, as he was projected to be off the board with the No. 1 overall pick in the latest mock draft from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department.

Once he's drafted, it isn't hard to imagine another update coming to his LinkedIn account.
