Husan Longstreet Reportedly Commits to Lane Kiffin, LSU After USC Transfer, Former 5-Star QB
LSU football has landed former USC quarterback Husan Longstreet via the transfer portal, per Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.
Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Longstreet was ranked 25th overall and fourth among quarterbacks for the Class of 2025.
Longstreet joins a quarterback room that includes Sam Leavitt, the former Arizona State star who will presumably be QB1 in town. However, Longstreet could very well be his successor. Leavitt has two years of eligibility left but in theory could leave after the 2026 season for the draft.
The LSU QB room now also includes Landen Clark, who transferred from Elon. He was the Colonial Athletic Association's Co-Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2025.
Head coach Lane Kiffin is going to work remaking the LSU squad, which went 7-6 last season. Head coach Brian Kelly was fired last October amid his fourth season with the Tigers following a 5-3 start.
The Tigers lead 247Sports' 2026 transfer portal rankings. The 247Sports transfer star system gives LSU one 5-star transfer (Leavitt) and eight 4-stars. LSU is also ranked 12th for the high school class of 2026.
