Ja Morant Reacts to NBA Trade Rumors, Addresses Cryptic Social Media Posts
Ja Morant didn't have much of a response to the Memphis Grizzlies reportedly willing to hear trade offers for him.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Morant said his reaction to the trade stories was to just "live with it."
There has also been a lot of attention paid to Morant's social media activity and some of his cryptic posting in the wake of the speculation around him.

Morant told reporters he is amused by the reaction to his posts: "Yeah, I see it. It's cool. Funny."
Citing a "well-placed source close to the situation," Yahoo Sports' Kelly Iko reported Morant was "deeply disappointed" by rumors linking him to a possible trade.
According to a Jan. 9 report from ESPN's Shams Charania, the Grizzlies are entertaining offers for Morant and multiple teams are pursuing the two-time All-Star ahead of the trade deadline.
No one in the organization is really offering much insight into the Morant situation right now. Head coach Tuomas Iisalo was tight-lipped when asked about it on Tuesday.
"We are not in the business of commenting on random internet reports," Iisalo said. "He's progressing in the practices. He's already able to do a lot of the parts of practice, so looking good to progress (toward playing)."
Morant has seemed to have issues with the organization for some time. He was one of the several players on the team last season who reportedly "tuned out" Taylor Jenkins before the Grizzlies fired him as head coach.
After the Grizzlies' game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 31, Morant seemed unhappy with how Iisalo and the coaching staff used him.
There is also the question of Morant's on-court impact and availability. He has already missed 21 games this season. After playing in 130 out of a possible 145 games in his first two NBA seasons, he has only appeared in 195 games since the start of the 2021-22 season.
Morant is also having the worst offensive season of his career so far in 2025-26. He's averaging 19.0 points on 40.1 percent shooting and 7.6 assists per game in 18 starts. His 50.6 true shooting percentage is the third-worst in the NBA among all players who average at least 25 minutes per game.
When you combine Morant's struggles with the Grizzlies' 17-22 record, it's in their best interest to see what the market for him looks like. They already started to break up their core in the summer when Desmond Bane was traded to the Orlando Magic.
Trading Morant would be the next step in the process, though his market could be soft given how limited the return was for the Atlanta Hawks when they traded Trae Young to the Washington Wizards.
