Cam Coleman Transfers to Texas from Auburn, Full Scouting Report on Arch Manning's New WR

Doric SamJan 11, 2026

Texas landed one of the most coveted players in the transfer portal, and returning starting quarterback Arch Manning is surely excited about the team's new addition.

Auburn wide receiver Cam Coleman announced that he has committed to transfer to Texas. 247Sports' composite ranked him as a 5-star recruit, the No. 2 wide receiver and the No. 3 overall player in the class of 2024.

In two years at Auburn, Coleman has produced 93 receptions for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns. Hayes Fawcett of On3.com ranked him as the No. 1 wide receiver in the transfer portal. 247Sports national recruiting analyst Cooper Petagna noted that he "projects as an immediate contributor at the next level and a potential Day-1 NFL Draft choice with a rare combination of size, speed, and athleticism that differentiates him from the rest of his peers."

Grace Raynor and Sam Khan Jr. of The Athletic reported that the Longhorns were the first to host Coleman on an official visit, and he later took visits to Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Alabama. In the end, Texas landed arguably the biggest prize of the offseason so far.

"Best player in the portal," a Power 4 general manager said of Coleman, per Raynor and Khan. "He's a freak. The numbers aren't what you'd expect because of (Auburn's) quarterback play, but he's an absolute difference maker."

The Longhorns will now have one of the best receiving tandems in all of college football in Coleman and returning leading receiver Ryan Wingo, who has recorded 83 catches for 1,306 yards and nine touchdowns in two years.

Manning had a solid first year as the full-time starter for Texas, and having Coleman on the outside with Wingo should help him ascend even further in 2026. The young signal-caller threw for 3,163 yards, 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions while adding 399 rushing yards and 10 more scores.
