Dante Moore Comments on Oregon Future, 2026 NFL Draft Decision After CFP Loss to Indiana
Oregon quarterback Dante Moore told reporters after his team's 56-22 loss to Indiana in the College Football Playoff semifinals on Friday that he's unsure on his NFL future at this time.
Moore currently ranks second among quarterbacks and ninth overall on the latest B/R NFL Scouting Department big board.
In his first season as Oregon's starter, Moore threw for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns (10 interceptions) while adding a pair of scores on the ground. Under his watch, Oregon averaged 38.0 points per game, which ranked ninth in Division I-FBS.
The Ducks' season ended with a blowout defeat, but they were exceptional for the majority of the year, going 13-2 overall (both losses were vs. Indiana). Moore played a big part in that, and it's no surprise that NFL scouts love what they see in the 20-year-old signal-caller.
B/R NFL scout Damian Parson provided a pro comparison to Houston Texans signal-caller C.J. Stroud, the former Ohio State star who has led his team to the playoffs in each of his three NFL seasons.
We'll see what Moore decides soon enough, but the first three teams in this year's draft (Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals in that order) have big question marks at QB. Therefore, if Moore declares, it wouldn't be surprising to see him get picked quite early. Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza (QB1 on B/R's list) might have the edge right now at No. 1 overall, but Moore could easily be second at this point.
