Durant entered Houston's Friday evening road game at the Portland Trail Blazers with 31,405 career points, just 14 shy of Chamberlain at 31,419.
He got those 14 points in the first half to tie Chamberlain. KD got seventh solo with a three-pointer with 7:57 left in the third quarter.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is the all-time scoring leader with 42,575 entering Friday. The rest of the top six consists of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928), Kobe Bryant (33,643), Michael Jordan (32,292) and Dirk Nowitzki (31,560).
Now Durant, a 15-time All-Star and four-time scoring champion, rounds out the top seven. It's another tremendous accolade for the ex-Texas star, a two-time NBA champion, two-time NBA Finals MVP, four-time Olympic gold medalist and one-time NBA MVP.
The 18-year veteran has also averaged 27.2 points per game entering Friday's action. That places him sixth all-time on the NBA's career PPG list behind Jordan (30.12), Chamberlain (30.07), Luka Dončić (28.9), Joel Embiid (27.6) and Elgin Baylor (27.4).
