Luka Doncic, Lakers Offense Disappoint NBA Fans in Loss to Wemby, Spurs as LeBron Out
The Los Angeles Lakers' offensive issues have been a point of emphasis so far this season, and those issues haunted them on Wednesday in a 107-91 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
With LeBron James and Austin Reaves both sidelined, the Lakers struggled to find much on the offensive end. Luka Dončić was really the only player who managed get things going on offense, as he finished with 38 points, 10 assists and 10 boards.
Aside from Dončić, no other Laker had more than 16 points and Los Angeles shot 40 percent from the field and 23 percent from deep. The Lakers' 91 points were the fewest allowed by the Spurs this year.
After a night of offensive woes, fans called out the Lakers on social media.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick recently lamented the offensive struggles, noting that he had blamed it on the holidays.
"I don't know what else to do," Redick said of the offensive woes.
Los Angeles came into Wednesday's contest with the seventh-ranked offensive rating, so things aren't a complete disaster, but it's pretty clear that not having James and Reaves on the floor takes a major toll on the Lakers.
