'Beat The F--k Up,' Draymond Green Reveals Injuries After Warriors' Loss to Clippers
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green revealed that he was banged up after diving for a loose ball during Monday night's 103-102 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Green said, "I'm beat the f--k up. ... But I'll be all right on Wednesday."
During the second quarter, Green dove for a loose ball and crashed into the Warriors' bench. Green divulged that he hurt his ribs on that play and also suffered other injuries over the course of the contest.
"I crashed into the bench and knocked a rib out," Green said. "Then right after that I rolled my ankle. I fell on my wrist and hurt my left wrist. So, it's just an accumulation of this game."
Nick Friedell of The Athletic reported during the game that the Warriors said Green suffered a rib contusion.
Green struggled with his shot on Monday, finishing with six points on 2-of-8 shooting from the field and 0-for-6 shooting from beyond the arc. However, he did add 12 assists, five rebounds and two steals, while only committing one foul.
Meanwhile, superstar guard Stephen Curry fouled out with 43 seconds remaining, ending his night a tad prematurely after scoring a game-high 27 points.
Earlier in the fourth quarter, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was assessed two technical fouls for arguing calls, resulting in his ejection.
Frustration seemed to boil over for Kerr, as the Warriors have struggled to play consistent basketball of late, losing two of their past three games and three of their past six.
At 19-18, the Warriors eighth in the Western Conference, which means they are firmly in the playoff mix, but currently in postseason play-in tournament territory.
Having a healthy Green will be paramount if the Warriors want to get back in contention for a top-six spot, and Green's comments suggest that he doesn't believe the injuries he suffered on Monday will impact him significantly.
