DJ Lagway's Potential Landing Spots Reportedly Revealed After Florida Transfer
Former Florida quarterback DJ Lagway is reportedly considering several options after entering the transfer portal.
ESPN's Pete Thamel reported Monday that Lagway will visit Virginia on Monday after meeting with Florida State and intends to take a "handful more visits."
According to Pete Nakos of On3.com, LSU, Baylor and Miami were among the "early schools to watch" for the signal-caller. Nakos later reported that Lagway will visit Baylor on Wednesday.
Lagway is coming off a 2025 season in which he completed 63.2 percent of his throws for 2,264 yards and 16 touchdowns to go along with 14 interceptions in 12 games.
He also spent his freshman year with the Gators in 2024, throwing for 1,915 yards and 12 touchdowns while getting picked off nine times across 12 appearances.
Lagway has two years of eligibility remaining.
His potential is still enticing despite dealing with some consistency issues. The 20-year-old was a 5-star prospect who was listed as the No. 2 quarterback and No. 7 overall player in the country as part of the 2024 recruiting class, per 247Sports' composite rankings.
Virginia wrapped up a record of 11-3 under head coach Tony Elliott in 2025, marking the school's first season with a double-digit win total since 1989.
The Cavaliers also made an appearance in the ACC Championship game, but narrowly fell to Duke in overtime.
Chandler Morris served as Virginia's starting quarterback last season, although his future is uncertain after applying for an extra year of eligibility.
If Morris ultimately doesn't return, Lagway could eventually choose to join the Cavaliers if his visit goes well.
