Marcel Reed Announces He'll Return to TAMU After Lane Kiffin's LSU Transfer Pitch

Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed, who just finished his redshirt sophomore season, announced his comeback to the Aggies in the fashion of Michael Jordan's "I'm back" fax.

Reed added on IG: "Where the heart is🏠🫶🏾."

"Let's finish what was started Aggieland!"

Reed remained with the Aggies even though LSU head coach Lane Kiffin made a pitch for him to head to Baton Rouge.

Reed completed 62.1 percent of his passes for 3,169 yards (8.4 yards per attempt), 25 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He's also rushed for 493 yards and six touchdowns.

The Aggies won their first 11 games this year and rose up to No. 3 in the College Football Playoff rankings. A win in their final regular season game at Texas would have placed the Aggies in the SEC Championship Game. However, the Longhorns defeated the Aggies, 27-17.

Texas A&M then hosted No. 10 Miami in the first round of the CFP, but the offense had no answer for the Hurricanes' staunch defense en route to a 10-3 loss.

Reed struggled in those final two games, throwing four interceptions overall and failing to find the end zone.

However, he still played a key role in leading the Aggies to that initial 11-0 record and a spot in the CFP, and now he'll be back for a third year as the team's starter.
