TCU overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to secure a 30-27 overtime win over No. 16 USC in the Alamo Bowl on Tuesday night.

With the Horned Frogs facing third down and 20 yards to gain in overtime after the Trojans kicked a field goal on their first possession, running back Jeremy Payne caught a short pass from Ken Seals and evaded multiple defenders for a game-winning touchdown.

After the game, TCU took a victory lap on social media, trolling USC legend Matt Leinart's dismissive comments about the Trojans' loss:

Fans and pundits were amazed by Payne's final play in the victory over head coach Lincoln Riley's squad.

Payne rushed for a team-high 73 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. He also hauled in six receptions for 50 yards to go along with his game-winning score.

Both teams struggled to start Tuesday's contest offensively, trading punts before USC took a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

A five-yard rushing touchdown by TCU freshman Jon Denman gave the Horned Frogs their first lead of the game and they'd go on to maintain a 14-13 edge at halftime.

The opening drives of the second half for each team resulted in interceptions, but USC jumped back in front with an impressive one-handed touchdown grab by Jaden Richardson.

A field goal from Trojans kicker Ryon Sayeri put the Horned Frogs in a 10-point deficit, but they quickly responded with a five-yard touchdown run by Payne.

After USC couldn't run out the clock on its ensuing possession, TCU's offense was able to drive down the field and connect on a game-tying field goal as time expired.

Seals wrapped up an admirable performance under center, making his first start of the season after Josh Hoover entered the transfer portal.

Seals finished 29-of-40 for 258 yards and one touchdown compared to one interception. He also picked up a second score on the ground.

With the win, TCU posted a 9-4 record for the second consecutive year under head coach Sonny Dykes.
